Emergency Appeal for Immediate Assistance to 200,000 Newly Displaced People in Northern Sudan

Sudan is facing one of its most critical humanitarian moments.Intensified fighting in Darfur has triggered a massive new wave of displacement, forcing more than 200,000 civilians—mostly women, children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses—into El-Daba in Northern Sudan.

El-Daba, a small city with limited infrastructure, is overwhelmed.Makeshift camps have formed overnight without shelter, food, medicine, sanitation, or winter protection. Families are sleeping on bare ground, while children face severe exposure to cold night temperatures and mounting health risks. Local services cannot cope with the magnitude of this unfolding crisis.

With winter approaching, the absence of blankets and warm bedding threatens thousands with hypothermia and respiratory infections.

1. Immediate Needs on the Ground

Displaced families urgently require:

• Large-scale food assistance

• Blankets and winter protection

• Essential medicines, including:

  • Antibiotics

  • Anti-inflammatories

  • Fever medication for children

  • Oral rehydration salts

  • First-aid supplies

• Clean water containers and basic hygiene kits

• Emergency shelter materials

These items are needed immediately to prevent avoidable loss of life.

2. SARC’s Emergency Response Plan

SARC is mobilizing an expanded emergency operation to support affected families.Our teams are preparing to deliver:

• Large-scale food distributions (based on incoming support)

• Winter blankets and critical bedding materials

• Emergency medical supplies through clinics and volunteers

• Hygiene kits and essential daily-use materials

Our field teams already positioned in Northern Sudan can begin distribution within 48–72 hours once resources are secured.

3. Call for Humanitarian Partnership

We urgently appeal to:

• International NGOs

• Local and regional humanitarian agencies

• Foundations and charitable organizations

• Diaspora networks

• Philanthropic partners and individuals

The scale of displacement is immense. Any level of support matters—food baskets, medical supplies, blankets, logistics, or shared operations.This is a moment where even modest interventions save lives.
